Sound familiar?
There's a better way.
The RV Lifestyle Trip Planning Dashboard is exactly what it sounds like - one place where your entire RV life lives. Your route, your budget, your rig profile, your emergency info, your destination weather, your notes, your photos. All of it. Organized, accessible, and ready whether you have a signal or not.
Plus, you can search for campgrounds along your route (from 80,000 in North America!), book them, and automatically enter them in your Trip Timeline.
This is not another app you'll download and forget. This is your command center for every trip you take from here on out. Clean, easy-to-use, intuitive and so practical.
$29 - One Time. No subscription. No renewal. No gotcha.
You've got your route. You've got your rig. Your campgrounds. What you don't have is one place where all of it lives together.
Until now.
The RV Lifestyle Trip Planning Dashboard is a web-based app that puts your entire RV life in one organized, always-accessible command center. Pay once. Use it forever. Every update we make is automatically yours, at no extra charge.
What's inside:
Route planning with auto-calculated distances between every stop. Map out a weekend run or a 30-day national parks loop - the dashboard does the math while you do the dreaming.
Be alerted to low overpasses and tunnels that may be unsafe for your RV.
Destination weather forecasts right inside your trip plan. Know what you're rolling into before you hitch up.
Budget tracking that actually works. Enter your campground costs, fuel estimates, food, and activities. Everything rolls up into one running total so you always know where you stand.
A fuel estimator built around your specific rig. Enter your MPG once and the dashboard calculates fuel cost for every leg of every trip, automatically.
Emergency and insurance information, always at your fingertips. Store your VIN, insurance policy details, roadside assistance contacts, and emergency numbers in one secure, organized place. No more digging through the glove box on the side of the highway.
Maps and destination information built in. See where you're going, what's nearby, and how the pieces of your trip connect.
Weather forecasts for every destination on your itinerary. Not just your home base - every stop on your route.
Notes and customization throughout. Add your own details, reminders, and personal notes to any stop, any section, any part of your trip plan. Make it yours.
A photo journal to capture the road. Attach photos and notes to your stops and build a living record of your adventures as you go.
Offline mode, so dead zones don't kill your plans. The dashboard works without a signal, because the road doesn't always have one.
PDF export for every trip. Print your complete plan, share it with travel partners, or keep it as a backup. One tap.
Cloud-saved trips with secure login. Access your dashboard from your phone, tablet, or laptop. Your trips are always with you, always backed up.
Pay $29, once, and that's it.
Most RV planning tools charge up to $65 a year. Every year. The meter keeps running whether you're on the road or not.
We don't do that.
Pay $29 once and the dashboard is yours. Every feature. Every future update. No renewal notice. No credit card charge you forgot about. No decision to make next January.
That's not a promotion. That's the price, permanently.
Built by full-time RVers, for full-time RVers.
This dashboard was built by the team behind the RV Lifestyle Podcast - the longest-running RV lifestyle podcast in the country. Mike and Jennifer Wendland have been RVing for 15 years and have authored more than two dozen RV Travel Guides. Every feature in this dashboard came from a real problem they ran into on a real trip.
The emergency info section exists because hunting for an insurance card on the side of a highway is no fun. The rig profile exists because re-entering your specs for every new app gets old fast. The notes and customization exist because no two RVers plan the same way, and a tool that forces you into a rigid system isn't actually a tool - it's a cage.
This one bends to fit you.
What you get:

FAQ's About the Trip Planning Dashboard:
Q: Is there an annual fee for this app?
A: No. Buy it once and it's yours. And every update or improvement we make is automatically added to the app.
Q: Is the map driving route for the trip integrated with the GPS screen in the vehicle when traveling?
A: Our app is designed as a complete trip planning and organization tool, not a navigation system.
When it comes to navigation, the app does not connect directly to your vehicle’s built in GPS or dashboard screen. Instead, it integrates with Google Maps.
Think of it this way: our app is your trip planning command center, everything organized in one place, while Google Maps (or your preferred navigation app) handles the actual driving directions.
Q: Does the app show fuel prices along the route?
A: Our app is designed as a complete trip planning and organization tool, not as a GPS navigation system. It does not display real time fuel prices, so for that you would still want to use a dedicated app like GasBuddy or similar services that specialize in live pricing updates.
Q: Do you have a free trial? What if I buy the app and don;t like it? Can I get a refund?
A: That’s a great question, and we completely understand wanting to feel confident before trying something new.
Because this is a web-based app, we don’t offer free trials or refunds. Once access is granted, there’s no reliable way for us to fully revoke that access if someone decides later they don’t want it. That said, we’ve intentionally priced it very affordably, much lower than most apps in this space, to make it an easy, low-risk decision to try.
We built this tool because we use it ourselves every day out on the road, and our goal is for it to genuinely make your RV travels simpler and more organized. If you have any questions about how it works before jumping in, we’re always happy to help so you can feel confident it’s right for you.
Q: Does the app provide audible directions like RV Trip Wizard?
A: No, the trip planner dashboard does not provide audible turn-by-turn directions. It's a planning tool, not a pure navigation app. However, it works great alongside RVLife or Trip Wizard:
The RV Lifestyle Trip Planner Dashboard is a trip planning and organization tool — it helps you map out your route, campgrounds, budget, and checklists all in one place. It does **not** provide audible turn-by-turn directions.
For navigation, you'd continue using RVLIFE/Trip Wizard (or your Garmin) just as you do now. The two work well together — you can plan your entire trip in the dashboard, then export a GPX file and load it into your GPS device, or tap Open in Google Maps from the map view to get turn-by-turn directions on your phone.
Think of the dashboard as your trip binder and RVLife/Garmin as your co-pilot— they complement each other!
Q: Are there any limits to the distance or number of stops in the trip planner?
A: There are no limits on the number of driving days, stops, or campgrounds you can add. You can plan cross-country trips with as many legs as you need. The trip planner automatically calculates mileage and drive times for each segment. You can also drag and drop to reorder your driving days and stops to arrange them in any sequence you prefer.
Q: Does mapping/weather work in Canada? Can you switch to km?
A: Yes! The mapping, route calculations, and weather features all work in Canada. And there is a **MI/KM toggle** right in the header bar. Just click the "MI" button (top right, next to "How to Use") to switch all distances throughout the app to kilometers. Your preference is saved automatically.
Q: The default route goes through a big city I want to avoid — how do I use an alternate route?
A: To customize your route and avoid specific cities, break your trip into smaller segments using intermediate waypoints. For example, instead of "Nashville → Kansas City," add two driving days: "Nashville → Springfield, IL" then "Springfield, IL → Kansas City." This forces the route through your preferred corridor.
TIP: We've added a built-in routing tips guide — click the **ℹ️ icon** next to "Add Driving Day" for step-by-step instructions on customizing your route. You can also drag and drop driving days to reorder them as needed.
Q. Can the travel route be exported to a Garmin RV device?**
A: Yes! We've added a **GPX export** feature. Click the **"Export GPX"** button in the bottom toolbar to download a standard GPX file containing all your trip waypoints and route. This file can be loaded directly into your Garmin RV device, as well as most other GPS units that accept GPX files. Simply transfer the downloaded `.gpx` file to your Garmin via USB or the Garmin Express app.
Q: Can I rearrange the order of driving days and stops & attractions?**
A: Yes! We've have **drag-and-drop reordering** to both the Driving Days and Stops & Attractions sections. Simply hover over any item and grab the **⠿ drag handle** that appears on the left side, then drag it to your preferred position. Driving day numbers will automatically update to reflect the new order.
Q: How does the Trip Map work?
A: The Trip Map on your dashboard is a planning overview — it draws a driving route between your Start Location → Driving Day endpoints → Destination. It's designed to give you a bird's-eye view of your overall trip path.
Here's the recommended workflow:
-
Plan your route in the trip dashboard (driving days, campgrounds, stops)
-
When ready to drive, click "Open in Google Maps" or "Full route with directions" — this sends your waypoints to Google Maps where you get proper turn-by-turn routing.
-
Or hit "Export GPX" to load the route into RVLife, Garmin, or any GPS app where you can fine-tune the exact path
The embedded map in our trip dashboard uses OpenStreetMap for the overview — it doesn't support interactive route editing. Google Maps (via our link) is much better for that. Think of the dashboard map as your "trip at a glance" and Google Maps as your "driving co-pilot."
If you want a specific intermediate stop included in the route line on the trip dashboard, add it as a Driving Day endpoint (the "From" or "To" field) — it's always included in the route calculation that gets sent to Google Maps per our link.

Customer Reviews
We used the RV Travel Guide for our fall road trip and it honestly saved us weeks of planning. The daily routes were laid out so clearly that we never had to wonder what came next. We avoided backtracking, saved on fuel, and loved the campground suggestions. Every stop felt intentional and easy. It took the stress right out of the trip.
As a solo traveler, I used to worry about choosing the wrong route or
missing something important. This guide completely removed that
stress. I just followed the plan and enjoyed the ride. I saw places I
would have driven right past. It gave me confidence and peace of
mind.
The campground recommendations alone were worth the price. Easy access, big-rig friendly, and close to the attractions. We did not waste time driving around searching for a place to stay, and we avoided overpriced tourist parks. That saved us both time and money.
We saved more money than we expected because the routes were
efficient and the overnight stops were well thought out. No
unnecessary detours, no expensive last-minute campground decisions. We
felt like we were traveling with an expert who had already done the
research.
I cannot believe how many hidden gems we would have missed without
this guide. Scenic overlooks, charming small towns, local attractions
we never would have found on our own. It made our trip feel curated
and intentional rather than random.
"We are relatively new to RV travel and this guide removed all the anxiety. The daily driving distances were realistic, the stops made sense, and the campground tips were extremely helpful. We spent more time enjoying and less time worrying."
It felt like having someone experienced guiding me the entire way.
The routes were scenic and logical, and I did not have to spend hours
on Google trying to piece together a plan. I saw more, drove smarter,
and stayed in great campgrounds.
For what you get, these RV eBooks are an incredible value. They saved
us countless hours of research and helped us avoid mistakes that can
get expensive fast. We followed the route exactly and it turned into
one of our best RV adventures ever.
